Carry on country! An article about Daniel from RTÉ

Missing Daniel O'Donnell's swagger on Strictly? Well don't worry, he's still showing off his moves and whole lot more on his TG4 music show Opry an Iúir.  It turns out he's quite the man for the saucy quips and cheeky carry-on as this series of out-takes from the show proves.

With a whopping 740,000 people tuning in the see The Late Late Show Country Special last week, it shows the grá for country music is very much alive and well in Ireland.

Thankfully for country fans, every Wednesday evening O'Donnell takes to the stage to belt out some of his greatest hits as gaeilge on TG4's Opry an Iúir, along with throwing out a few some saucy dance moves and cheeky one liners. Ooooer.

Speaking about the series, Daniel said: “I really enjoyed presenting Opry an Iúir again this year. The guests were all fantastic. I got to sing a few songs in Irish. A first for me! It's so good to have a show like this to showcase some of our great country stars.”

TG4 have scheduled a special show on December 23 in which Daniel celebrates Brendan Shine’s 50 years in music, while for fans north of the border there's a chance to see Opry an Iúirs when it airs on BBC Northern Ireland in January.
