Mentor Linda McKay gave a six day master class in bespoke hat making to Antoinette O’Mahony, a busy mum of two who’s ambition is to further develop a home business making hats and to Claire Hurley a graduate of Limerick College of Art and Design who is based in Kinsale and working as a fashion designer, up-cycling fabrics into one-off garments that cannot be found on the main street and to wedding hair stylist of the year, Pat O’Neill.

All three apprentices over-came design hurdles to produce three individual hats with appeal to three different markets in the Thomastown studio drawing lots of excitement and marvel from the locals at the hats made by the three apprentices.

SPOILER ALERT: IT WAS HATS OFF TO CLAIRE HURLEY AS SHE IS GOING THROUGH TO REPRESENT MILLINERY IN THE FINAL OF CRAFT MASTER.
